April 2024 Events Port Aransas, Texas

April is one of my favorite months to be in Port Aransas!

The weather is amazing and the beach clean and beautiful.

In addition to going to the beach, there are many other fun things to do.  April is the beginning of baseball season and going to a Corpus Christi Hooks https://www.milb.com/corpus-christi baseball game is at the top of my list.

The first Hooks home game will be Friday, April 5^th, playing against the Midland Rockhounds.

For all of the golfers out there, the Port Aransas Preservation and Historical Association will be sponsoring the Farley Golf Classic Tournament, celebrating 109 years of Farley Boats on April 11^th.   This tournament will be held at Palmilla Beach Golf Club and will include a Master’s themed reception and ceremony.  A short drive from Port Aransas to Padre Island (North) will get you to the twice monthly Farmer’s Market, and will be on April 4^th and April 18^th.  The farmers market is normally located at Island Presbyterian Church 14030 Fortuna Bay dr. next to billfish park. On bad weather days the market is held at the Padre Balli Park pavilion by Bob Hall Pier, 15820 Park Rd. 22. The market has local produce, live music and food trucks among other activities.

On April 13^th you will have an opportunity to honor Fallen Trooper Chad Walker in a 5K and 1K run with an obstacle course.  What a great time to honor the troopers and get some exercise as well.  The run will be held on the Port Aransas Beach.  https://txdpsoa.redpodium.com/3rd-annual-trooper-chad-walker-obstacle-course

Enjoy incredible sand sculptures, live music, food, shopping and more at the Texas SandFest.  This event began as a small local competition in 1997 and is now an internationally recognized event and the largest native-sand sculpture competition in the USA.  This three-day event will be held on the Port Aransas beach April 19^th – April 21^st.  This is an event you don’t want to miss.  https://www.portaransas.org/texas-sandfest/

Port Aransas is known for its great live music and the opportunities for April do not disappoint.  Whether you are visiting on a weekend or weekday, you’re sure to find a great band to enjoy.
