Most people assume that Summer is the best time to come to Port A. That’s not necessarily true Years ago, before we lived in Port Aransas on a full-time basis, we LOVED coming here in the spring. And I’m not talking about Spring Break –
maybe if I was still 20ish, but no, there are so many great things to do at the beach.
March & April are some of my favorite times to be in Port A.

Super Bowl Watch Party – February 12th 5:30 PM at Cinnamon Shores Town
Center Green.
If you haven’t driven through the beautiful coastal community of Cinnamon Shores, you are missing a huge treat! With classic coastal architecture designed with community in mind, Cinnamon Shores in Port Aransas has become a top destination on the Texas Gulf Coast.
Watching the Kansas City Chiefs play the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII among your friends outside at a fun venue is a super (pun intended) way to spend your Sunday evening.
Saltwater Legend Series Fishing Tournament – February 16th- 18th at
Fisherman’s Wharf.
Wow – this is something you don’t want to miss! Port Aransas has been chosen to be the first of four stops in the 2023 series The Tournament is all about
preserving the history and value of the sport… and… honors the heroes and legends of saltwater fishing on the gulf coast.
The winning team of the year will win a 2023 Haynie custom boat package with Mercury outboard and Coastline aluminum trailer.
WhoopingCr ane Festival – February 23rd – 26th. The Whooping Crane Festival
celebrates the annual return of the cranes to their wintering habitat at the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge.
The Texas Coastal Bend is the only place where you can see the world’s last naturally occurring population of Whooping Cranes. Events include boat tours, lectures, a photography workshop, birding tours and much more.
Sand Fest – April 14th – 16th.
Sand Fest is the largest native-sand sculpture competition in the USA.
In addition to viewing the amazing and unique sand sculptures, you can enjoy live music, great food and shopping.
People come from all over the world and if you are interested in coming you need to book a rental right away because the island will be full.
Get ready for Palm Fest with two incredible weekends on the waterfront in downtown
Port A. PalmFest is combined with the Third Annual BBQ Masters Thrown Down Competition which is the 2nd weekend – this festival is both weekends: Cinco De Mayo Weekend – May 5th & 6th and May 11th & 12th.
