Chocolate, Wine, Art, Music, Painting, Whooping Cranes -- WHAT?
In February, Port Aransas celebrates all of the above along, of course, with Valentine's Day.
Crazy About Cranes is an informational event at held at Robert's Point Park, with the International Crane Foundation will be lecturing about cranes, includes games and more. This will be a free event, February 3, 2024 from 1-3 pm.
Enjoy making your own painting with Island Art Parties while sipping your favorite beverage and listening to live music by John Elijah. Held at The Palm Social Club on February 6th from 7 to 9 pm. Includes heart shaped pizzas from The Gaff, specialty cocktails, valentine treats - you don't want to miss out on this fun night.
Love shopping - love chocolate? Then the "Chocolate Crawl" on Thursday, February 8th, is meant for you! Visit local boutiques and shops from 4:30 to 7:30 and be treated to beverages, sweets and sales! (Ok, sadly I must admit that while preparing this particular post, I had to make a trip into my kitchen for a dark chocolate Hershey's kiss. The power of suggestion does it to me every time!! Luckily for my husband, I haven't gone shopping -- yet.)
As usual, Port Aransas doesn't disappoint as a very cool and laidback, just the way it should be on an island, Live Music scene. February has music all month, I've shown a few scheduled musicians here however, you can visit https://www.portaransas.org/events/all-events/ for a complete list.
February in Port Aransas wouldn't be complete without the return of the annual Whooping Crane Festival. This festival celebrates the rarest of all cranes and among the oldest living bird species on the earth. A four day fun event including boat tours, workshops, photography, lectures, birding center tours, AMOS Rehabilitation Keep tours, and even wine & painting and more, this festival educates us about the ongoing efforts to protect and conserve this rarest of species.
Proceeds from this event benefits the conservation of whooping cranes through The International Crane Foundation.
February 22-25, 2024. For more information visit https://www.portaransas.org/whooping-crane-festival/the-2024-festival/
Being in Port Aransas doesn't mean you have to go anywhere if all you want to do is just enjoy listening to the waves and loving life at the beach.
